This itinerary for visiting Jarabacoa, center area of the Dominican Republic is designed to assist visitors with only a couple of days to spend, as well as those who can enjoy a longer stay. If you have the time, another destination close by that I highly recommend is Constanza, the agricultural center of Hispaniola, with its beautiful waterfall, Salto de Aguas Blancas. The cocoa plantation, El Sendero del Cacao, just outside of San Francisco de Macoris is another all-time favorite. While there, be sure to stop by the Mirabal Sisters Museum in Salcedo.
Jarabacoa — 2½ – 3 hour drive north on highway #1 from Santo Domingo.
Lunch: Fresco Café is on the outskirts of Jarabacoa on the main road.
